Where to Begin? Medieval Literature for Tolkien Fans

As a huge fan of Tolkien’s works and a student of medieval literature, I always saw parallels between Tolkien (especially in Lord of the Rings) and medieval texts. So, I put together three works of medieval literature that I think Tolkien fans, or anyone who would like to get into medieval literature, could enjoy! These are great beginner texts, so you don’t have to have read any medieval literature to be able to enjoy them! I recommend editions in the video, but as these are all very old, they are all available online, and if you’d like to read them online, the links are below:
