Paint Neon Sign in Watercolor-BEGINNER Step-by-Step

Practice line and water control, scrubbing and evaluating values, all in one easy, beginner tutorial, using 4 colors; cadmium yellow, cadmium orange, cobalt blue, and indantrone blue. There is not mixing involved.

I took this photo as I was walking down the street in downtown Flagstaff, AZ, and thought it would be a fun painting. But when I sat down to give it a try, I realized, I need help! My YouTube search yielded very little and it was all in acrylic. Then I clicked on Peggy Dean's tutorial. It was exactly what I needed and applied her approach to this painting.

Paint:
Cadmium orange, cadmium yellow, cobalt blue, and indanthrone blue
Paper:
the back of another painting on 8x10" Arches cold pressed, 140lb paper
Brushes:
Princeton Neptune 3/4 flat, Silver Black Velver round 10, 16
Silver White round 4
Blick Wonder White scrubber size 6
