Join us on an intriguing expedition to Kensal Green Cemetery as we embark on a journey to locate the grave of Prince Dwarkanath Tagore, a great son of Bengal and the grandfather of Rabindranath Tagore. Without clear directions, our search took almost an hour, navigating through the labyrinth of tombstones. Despite having a cemetery map from the office, it was only with the help of Google’s longitude and latitude coordinates that we finally got close to our destination. Watch as we unravel the challenges of finding the final resting place of one of Bengal’s most illustrious figures in the heart of London.

In this video, we reflect on the legacy of Dwarkanath Tagore and the history he shares with the UK, especially through his pioneering business ventures. We also share tips on how to better navigate this vast and historical cemetery, should you wish to pay homage to the greats buried here.
DIRECTION:
Take the train to Kensal Green (Bakerloo Line).

Once you exit the main station, walk to your left. In about 200 feet, take a left turn onto the main street (Harrow Road). Do not make a right turn—this was a mistake we made during our visit.

Walk for about 5–7 minutes, and you’ll see the sign for the "General Cemetery Company" and a large arched gate. Pass through the gate and walk straight for about 100 meters. You will find the grave of Prince Dwarkanath Tagore, on your left.
