Richard Roundtree best known for his signature role in the shaft movie franchise has died aged 81.
The sad news of his passing were confirmed by his agency in a statement.
where they also revealed that his cause of death is pancreatic cancer which he was diagnosed with two months ago.
" Artists and Representatives agency mourns the loss of our friend and client Richard roundtree. His tribalizing career changed the face of entertainment around the globe and his enduring legacy will be felt for generations to come. Our hearts ar with his family and loved ones durig this difficult time," the agency wrote
Other than the shaft movie franchise, Roundtree has played roles in productions like the Miniseries Roots, sitcoms Family Reunion and Being Mary Jane among others.
