Singapore Airlines SQ325 : Flying from Frankfurt to Singapore

4th December 2017

On my third leg on the return journey, I fly onboard a Singapore Airlines 9 years old B777-300ER, 9V-SWP back to Singapore. This is the third of four consecutive connecting flights.

We spent some time exploring Frankfurt and then caught a train to Terminal 1 where a protest regarding the expansion of the airport was occurring. We sympathised with the protesters before moving away to check in and collect our boarding passes. As we've been to the airport earlier on, it wasn't difficult to navigate our way through the terminal unlike the first time. The plane was originally going to park at Gate B46 but there were some technical issues with the plane parked there, so instead, the gate was changed to Gate B48. We boarded the aircraft and I settled in Seat 46K before the plane pushed back from the gate. Then, the plane taxiied to the runway and finally took off, heading east before turning towards Singapore. About an hour later, we were served supper which was delicious. The entertainment kept me busy for another or two before I eventually dozed off. Luckily, the middle seat was empty! I don't know how long I slept but when I woke up, light was seeping through the windows. We were flying over the Bay of Bengal which meant turbulence was about to rock the plane. It did. There was one "drop" moment and I was in the toilet at that time. Even though I prepared for it, standing up while the plane "dropped" felt like I was in the air for one whole second! For the last remaining hours, I watched as much as I can before breakfast was served which tasted great. Eventually, the plane approached Singapore and we finally landed. The plane taxiied to Terminal 3 and parked at Gate B4. Bags could be collected at Carousel 48. I was tired by the end of the flight, but I gathered all of my strength that I could muster and prepared for the final flight. After a short reunion with my father (who was in Singapore at the time), it was time to go home! Singapore Airlines did an absolutely wonderful job and I am looking forward to flying with them once more.
