DURAN DURAN Notorious (Latin Rascals Remix) January 16, 1987 Reedit/Reconceptualized

This is from a group of my very first remix music videos I ever made back in the late 80's. The Directors of the original music video (directing team Peter Kagan and Paula Greif) made a string of popular fashion videos before coming into their own with their natural progression into music videos in the mid to late 1980's. 'Notorious' was not the first nor the last they would collaborate on.

I mention this because their visual direction was very distinctive and specific. You could say they were in fashion as music video directors for a time. For this reason I incorporated into this remix music video scenes from other Kagen & Greif videos during the instrumental portions of the remix that visually are nearly seamless artistically.

The additional music videos included from the team are Scritti Politti's 'Perfect Way' (one of if not their first videos), Steve Winwood's "Higher Love" and Julian Lennon's rare music video for "This Is My Day".

In my opinion the "Latin Rascal's" Remix was the best of the lot released to support the "Notorious" single. Straight cuts, stylistically in vein with what I believe Kagen & Greif would appreciate.
