Police helicopter and armed units stop speeding motorcyclist

1. Two reckless thieves tried to evade police after stealing phones in central London. Body Worn Video footage shows our armed response officers in pursuit as the men rode electric surron motorbikes dangerously through heavy traffic - putting the public and officers at risk – before one of them collided with a vehicle and was arrested. Supported by the police helicopter, the second suspect was arrested after colliding with a postbox. They were found in possession of several stolen phones – which officers were able to return to their rightful owners. Ellis Parkinson faces 33 months in prison, Bradely McMillan faces 30 months.

2. Stealing a bike is one thing... trying to outrun a Police helicopter is another. 👀🚁
A high-powered motorbike, no plates, 80mph through London.
A Police Helicopter tracked it from above, and police officers used tactical contact to bring it to a stop. The suspect tried to escape but with our eyes in the sky and dog units on the ground, there was nowhere to hide.
Suspect detained. Bike recovered. Job done. 🚓

3. Dangerous driver arrested – double the speed limit and on the wrong side of carriageway, with no consideration for the safety of other road users.
Cannabis was found in his car, with more drugs, cash and phones seized at his home.
He pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply Class B drugs and dangerous driving.
Decisive police action is helping to remove drugs and dangerous drivers from London’s streets.

4. Officers intercepted a vehicle after a high-speed pursuit on the A3, reaching speeds of over 100mph. The driver failed to stop for police, dangerously weaving through traffic, residential streets, and red lights. During the pursuit, the driver rammed a marked police car in an attempt to escape, but officers managed to safely box in the vehicle and bring it to a stop. The suspect fled on foot but was quickly apprehended. They were found to be disqualified from driving and without insurance. They were found guilty of dangerous driving, failing to stop, driving whilst disqualified, and driving without insurance.

5. Police were called after a van was seen driving dangerously on Blackheath Common in Greenwich. The vehicle went off-road across the heath before joining the A2, driving the wrong way into oncoming traffic and narrowly missing pedestrians.
The police helicopter tracked the van, while local officers, traffic units, and firearms officers worked together to bring the pursuit to a safe stop. All suspects were arrested without any injuries.

6. When a reckless driver was heading the wrong way down the A12 and evaded a stinger, officers courageously used tactical contact to stop them in their tracks and protect the public.

07:00 – 08:21
7. Burglar found guilty after high-speed pursuit.
After breaking into a home, the offender stole car keys, two handbags and the victim’s vehicle. They then drove the stolen car the wrong way down a dual carriageway to try and evade police, putting lives at risk. Officers then bravely stopped the vehicle using tactical contact. He was found guilty of burglary, theft and dangerous driving and will face 4 years and 4 months in prison.

08:21 – 09:23
8. A Surron rider dressed in all black was spotted riding dangerously towards central London. PS Boughton and PC Grant gave pursuit and were able to use tactical contact to safely bring the rider to a stop.
Rocky McNamara was found with tin foil commonly used to wrap stolen phones. He was arrested for going equipped for theft, as well as dangerous driving, and having no insurance.
He received a 7-month suspended prison sentence and had his driving licence endorsed.

09:32 – 10:00
9. A moped on false plates was seen speeding dangerously through North London, weaving through traffic, running red lights, and mounting pavements - narrowly missing pedestrians.
The rider had to be stopped to prevent any further risk to the public, so specially trained police drivers used ‘tactical contact’ to bring the chase to an end.
The rider was swiftly arrested for several offences, including theft and dangerous driving.
