Benjamin Orr ~Hold On~(Co Founder Singer Bassist of The Cars ) From Solo Album "The Lace" 1986

This is the song called ~Hold On~ from the ~The Lace~ which sadly is the only solo studio album by Benjamin Orr. It was released on October 6, 1986, by Elektra Records and features his solo hit, the song, Stay the Night, which reached the top 40 in 1987. A follow-up single Too Hot to Stop was also released. Wounded Bird Records re-released the album on CD on August 15, 2006.
This song was written by Benjamin and Diane Grey Page ©1986. When I looked up copyrights for some reason it appeared as 1985 so this is why the first photo shows © 1985 although the album was released in 1986.
This is a song I love; it has such an incredible feel and upbeat mood. I love the way Benjamin sings this, his special delivery and the way he enunciates certain parts of the words, I love the lyrics of this one as well as it always makes me smile and it always makes me feel good and I hope you will feel the same way.

I used photos of Benjamin from different eras for these photo montages and these were created and are being uploaded under the terms of Fair Use. No copyright infringement intended.
I used mostly my own photos as a backdrop and do own copyright to these and then added images I found of Benjamin and the band that I found online to create these photo montages.
Some of these photos were black and white and I added colours and also some were turned into water colours or some small effects were added to these as some were pixelated, some were sketched.

I wanted to share Benjamin's own words from an interview with The Boston Globe's Jim Sullivan about his song writing with Diane Grey Page for his solo album The Lace.

"We share a large amount of romance in this life, and you can’t help but put that into music. How can you be miserable? … It’s good for now and I hope it’s good later. There’s the cynical part, you have to maintain some portion of realism.”
Benjamin also talked about the recording of The Lace which he was asked to do in the UK.
"I did the absolute best I could possibly do under the circumstances. I’m happy with what I have, but it makes me personally cringe when I don’t hear exactly {what I wanted}. Probably no one else would notice except myself and a few other people. It won’t happen like that again. It took me much too long to do this project. I wasn’t thrilled about some of the things that went on. I’m real glad it’s over."
Benjamin was talking about the fact that he had to record the album in the UK.
