In 2009, the Slenderman became an Internet meme. Part of the 'creepy pasta' short stories of a thin, very tall humanoid figure in a black suit and featureless face that terrorised and abducted children. However, in Accrington there have been numerous reports of a ghostly slenderman in a suit with a featureless face for over 50 years!
Heading to the many locations across the town, we track down where the slenderman has been spotted....a cinema in the 1970s, a conservative club in the 1990s, and numerous shops on Warner Street in recent years that have seen it being called one of the UKs most haunted streets. ....but is the link to Warner Street due to another reason? A very real murder took place here in 1896... the eye witness to the crime described the murderer.... a tall, thin man in a suit....
Could this be the Slenderman that still haunts the streets of Accrington today?
