I had an opportunity to spend a long weekend in Colorado, and made sure to get to my favorite trail in Colorado Springs, Captain Jacks. I brought my brother along on my old hardtail and we shuttled to the top to hit Captain Jacks and the Chutes.
It was the first time I've ever been on the Chutes, and I hadn't realized how much I was missing! It's a really flowy trail after the super rocky start, and has a lot of features built in for those of us with a desire of tires off the ground!
I had an absolute blast on my VK SoMo, which I've dubbed 'Flo' on Captain Jacks and the Chutes - almost all my previous runs have been either on outdated hardtails, with a couple runs on outdated full suspension bikes.
It's definitely not a trail I'd recommend for beginners, but with intermediate or above experience, it's definitely worth hitting.
Also worth keeping in mind it's a multi-use trail, open to motorcycles. We saw a few when we rode. The trail has a ton of kitty-litter type gravel, as is kinda expected in Colorado, but can make riding squirrley at times!
Filmed on my GoPro Hero 9, superview, and hypersmooth boost with protune turned on
