Most of us were taught that atoms look like tiny solar systems — a nucleus in the center with electrons orbiting like planets. This image appears in textbooks, classrooms, and museums everywhere. But there’s one problem: it’s wrong.
In this video, we explore what is actually inside an atom. Electrons do not orbit like planets. They do not have fixed positions. Atoms are not simply empty space. At the deepest level, there are no solid “things” at all — only quantum fields, wave functions, probabilities, and mathematical structures that create the illusion of solid matter.
Using ideas such as quantum superposition, the Pauli exclusion principle, the measurement problem, and why atoms don’t collapse, this presentation removes the comforting cartoons and replaces them with the strange but beautiful reality of quantum mechanics — just as Feynman loved to do.
