Torrox Costa Spain Fantastic Town Summer 2023 July Update Costa del Sol | Axarquía | Málaga [4K]

Located in closed proximity to Nerja, Torrox is a municipality in the province of Málaga in the autonomous community of Andalucía, southern Spain. It belongs to the comarca of Axarquía - located in the Costa del Sol Oriental, on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea and the foothills of the Sierra de Almijara.

It is frenquented by German and British tourists. The city is divided into different sections: Torrox Costa on the sea, and Torrox Pueblo, located 4km inland. The Torrox Park, which is a housing section in between the costa and the village could also be considered as another division.

Torrox Costa or Castillo Bajo - Conejito is considered as the most important population center on the Torroxeña coast. Due to its geographical location, it has been inhabited by almost all known civilizations: Phoenicians, Romans, and Arabs, etc. leaving its mark on the town.

As the years go by, the Catholic Monarchs ordered the construction of a castle to guard the Arabs. The castle would be found where the current lighthouse is located.
