Today in this video I am going to show you the World's oldest Indo-Tibet Trade Route built in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand which is said to be about 150 years old. Gartang Gali, a place where history meets Uttarakhand Beauty, this is one of the most exciting travel destinations in Uttarakhand. It is a wooden bridge near Lanka Bridge, it is 16 kms away from the Harsil Valley in Uttarkashi District.
This wooden trail hanging above the Ganga
River, Gartang Gali offers a panoramic view of
the Nelong Valley. This architectural marvel is
136 m long and 1.8 m wide. A 2.5 km steep hill
climb through the lush green forest is required to reach this beautiful Wooden Bridge.
It is 150 year old trail was used for Indo- Tibetan trade route by traders from Taknore Patti till 1962.
Gartang Gali was opened in the year 2021 to
visitors after its renovation.
If you are planning to do the Char Dham Yatra in 2025, then while going to the second Dham Gangotri Dham, about 10 kms before that, you can also visit Gartang Gali which is a most beautiful tourist place of Gangotri Dham. Or if you are planning to visit Harsil Valley, you can also visit here. Its best time to visit is from May to October.
