Roger Muller, a certified PADI Debris Removal Course Instructor, teamed up with Vasili, a dedicated public safety diver, for an underwater cleanup mission off the coast of Monmouth Beach, New Jersey. This challenging dive focused on removing sinkers and fishing weights from the ocean floor to contribute to a healthier marine environment.
Diving 50 feet underwater in strong currents and cold water, Roger and Vasili recovered an impressive 75 pounds of weights using a lift bag. The mission highlighted the importance of teamwork, training, and environmental stewardship in tackling underwater debris.
The dive was conducted from Roger’s boat, which provided a reliable platform for this operation. Roger guided Vasili through the PADI Debris Removal Course, equipping him with valuable skills and techniques to safely and effectively remove debris from aquatic environments.
