A common modification in various restomods is adding electric power steering. With drifting, people have started using electric hydraulic pumps. This makes is significantly easier for engine swaps, no need to figure out how to run a power steering pump from the engine.
With some chassis and swaps, it's hard to fit a hydraulic steering rack due to clearance issues. Over the years, various people have tried using an electric steering column from vehicles like the Toyota Yaris and Prius, but usually were unsuccessful. Lots of complaints about "lack of self steer" or "lack of self centering" - especially in AE86s.
I decided to try it in my AE86 drift car. I think that to do it right - you need a quick ratio steering rack and an extreme angle kit, like the Just Engineering Super Angle Kit. probably need to increase caster too.
anyway, check out this video of me testing it out on my car! Put your questions in the comments!
