Undertale: Theory of Everything — Synopsis

Before any human ever fell, Sans noticed something was off. The world skipped, repeated, and occasionally failed to fully render. Meals disappeared only to reappear, machines Papyrus fixed broke overnight, and strange gaps in reality appeared like unfinished code. Curious and concerned, Sans began documenting the anomalies, running experiments, and collaborating quietly with Alphys to understand the underlying patterns.

Over time, he discovered a single, unifying equation that seemed to govern all aspects of the universe — from gravity and energy to the strange “magic” that sustained monsters. When his experiments accidentally activated the equation, the world stabilized. Glitches were repaired, and reality finally functioned as it should. For a brief moment, everything seemed fixed.

Then a human fell.

Frisk’s arrival created a massive anomaly in the spacetime continuum. Timelines began jumping, freezing, and overlapping unpredictably. Some versions of the world showed empty timelines, while others showed everything intact. Sans quickly realized that the disruptions were centered on the human — their actions were directly destabilizing the universe.

When the human followed a genocide route, killing everyone in the Ruins, Sans faced a new problem: people were gone permanently, and his usual methods of restoring stability didn’t work. Determination, the human’s innate ability to reset and manipulate timelines, prevented conventional repairs. Sans turned to his own understanding of physics and mathematics, attempting to find a way to restore life without relying on Determination itself.
As he struggles with incomplete equations and chaotic anomalies, Sans must confront the limits of his science and the consequences of a world where even a single human can disrupt the balance of everything.

Undertale: Theory of Everything explores the intersection of science, morality, and causality in a world on the edge of collapse — a story where knowledge, not power, becomes the key to survival.
