In this one we head to Horse Cave, Kentucky to check out the Kentucky Down Under Adventure zoo. It is an Australian themed zoo just outside of Mammoth Cave National Park. It is unique as it allows visitors to drive electric golf carts around the zoo and it features such animals as dingoes, kookaburras, kangaroos, wallabies, emus, tortoises, porcupines, donkeys, and many more. Many of the animals are able to be petted and fed by visitors. The zoo is also unique as there is an actual cave near the gift shop in which you can tour with price of admission. This makes sense as it’s in cave country and the cave in question is the Mammoth Onyx Cave. Overall I recommend this zoo for its unique experiences and for its emphasis on interaction with the animals.
