Student Chef Shakira from Lincoln Culinary Institute loved making peach cobbler with her grandmother. That’s what inspired her to create this scrumptious dessert. She starts off with butter, of course, and adds brown sugar. Once that’s caramelized, she adds the sliced peaches. Shakira chooses Jamaican Rum for her flambé. Once the alcohol burns off, the result is a syrupy texture. She adds cinnamon, nutmeg and fresh berries for added taste and color. Surprise! Shakira pulls out a Vol-au-Vent, a puffed pasty bowl. This one’s filled with blueberry/vanilla ice cream and waiting for the peaches. You can eat everything on this amazing plate!
