We’re back on the 12 Foot Skiff, one of the world’s most extreme, overpowered Sailing dinghies, trying to tame it with a heap of upgrades and rigging/control system improvements, taking it from 1999 to 2025. From spinnaker and jib systems to the cunningham, mast track and vang, we’re making this crazy high-performance racing skiff just slightly easier to sail.
The 12ft skiff is legendary as the wildest small sailboat on the planet – fast, chaotic, and brutally hard to handle – so this episode is all about extreme sailing, skiff racing and dinghy upgrades. We fit Ronstan high load blocks, test Norfyx halyard reels, hack together some G10 epoxy solutions, and check in on the Roamer sailing dinghy project while we’re flat out in the shed.
