The TVS Orbiter is an all-new affordable electric scooter from TVS, designed for daily urban commuting. It promises a range of up to 158 km on a single charge (under IDC test conditions). Its top speed is 68 km/h, which makes it ideal for city roads and short highway stretches.

Powering the scooter is a 2.5 kW BLDC hub motor, paired with a 3.1 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Charging from 0 to 80% takes around 4 hours and 10 minutes using a standard charger.

The Orbiter is light and easy to handle, weighing 112 kg, with a seat height of 763 mm – comfortable even for shorter riders. The ground clearance of 169 mm ensures it can clear speed breakers easily, while the long 845 mm seat makes it good for carrying a pillion.

On the hardware side, the scooter uses 14-inch alloy wheels at the front and 12-inch alloy wheels at the rear, both fitted with tubeless tyres. Braking is handled by drum brakes on both ends with CBS (Combined Braking System) for extra safety. The suspension setup includes telescopic forks at the front and dual shock absorbers at the rear, tuned for comfort on Indian roads.

In terms of design and practicality, the Orbiter gets a 34-litre under-seat storage space, which can fit two half-helmets or plenty of groceries. It also has LED lighting all around, including the headlamp and tail-lamp.

Tech-wise, it comes with SmartXonnect app integration, giving you features like turn-by-turn navigation, SMS and call alerts, geo-fencing, regenerative braking, hill-hold assist, reverse mode, and even crash/fall alerts. It also supports over-the-air updates, meaning new features can be added via software later.
