採寫意的方式以多段體形式展開，
樂曲前段用五聲調式以純真童趣歌唱性旋律詠唱玉山之春，
萬物生生不息、群鳥飛舞繽紛的聲景；
後段引用布農族新詩歌Kipahpah ima（拍手歌）入樂，
由樂團各聲部相互疊唱、合作無間，
形象玉峯初陽的清新蓬勃，
更象徵著臺灣永續的無窮希望。

《夏》

這首作品是作曲家盧亮輝先生繼《春》之後，
又一部以「四季」為主題所創作的國樂作品，
1980年5月16日在香港完成創作，
是作者於1977年至1986年間任香港中樂團全職樂師時，
受香港中樂團委約創作的作品。
樂曲著重表現夏季中大自然變化的情景和人們對它的感受。

全曲共分為三段：

I. 表現出赤日炎炎，熱氣沸天，大地一片枯竭，人們內心充滿焦慮、不安和煩躁的心情。

II. 表現出烏雲瀰漫，雷聲隆隆，暴風驟雨來臨的情景。

III. 經過暴風雨的掃蕩後，天氣轉晴，太陽出來了，大地又是一片光明燦爛，人們懷著讚美的心情歌頌這明朗的夏天。

“Summer” is the second movement of composer LO Leung-Fai’s “The Four Seasons” .
It was commissioned by the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra when LO was a full-time musician with the orchestra from 1977 to 1986,
and was completed in Hong Kong on May 16, 1980.
The movement highlights the changing faces of nature during summertime and how they affect people’s moods. The movement consists of three sections:

I. Portraying the anxious, restless and irritable mood of people on a scorching hot summer day, when the air is filled with sweltering heat and the earth is drained of all life and force.

II. Depicting dark clouds covering the sky and the sound of thunder rumbling in the background, as a violent storm and heavy rain close in.

III. Portraying the sun shining and the weather turning sunny again after the havoc wreaked by the storm. The earth is again bright and splendid and people sing praises of the radiant summer day.
