WASHINGTON (TNND) — The public memorial service and funeral for political activist Charlie Kirk will be held Sunday afternoon in Glendale, Arizona. Doors open at 11 a.m. ET and the service begins at 2 p.m. ET.
The service will be held at State Farm Stadium, with the same level of security as the Super Bowl. The stadium is home to the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals, with a capacity of 63,000 people to 73,000 people for larger events.
The nearby Desert Diamond Arena served as overflow space to accommodate an additional 19,000 people.
Glendale, where the stadium is located, is home to Kirk’s organization, Turning Point USA.
Federal agencies are planning to have the same level of security as the Super Bowl at the memorial for assassinated political activist Charlie Kirk on Sunday as they track "several threats of unknown credibility," according to a memo obtained by ABC News.
