Hyundai Kona Electric — Is it a good EV?

I drove the 2025 Hyundai Kona Electric for several days last week, and came away very impressed. In addition to being a very well rounded compact SUV, Hyundai built in a few great EV specific features that make this car easy to live with. Everything from finding charging stations, to setting amperage limits, and one pedal driving is available to the driver. Energy efficiency was another surprise, despite the Kona not being built on a dedicated EV platform, instead sharing the bones with the internal combustion engine Kona.
My time with the Kona Electric was enjoyable, and I can see this as a good option for someone who want to get into an EV for under $40k USD / $50k CAD.
My only major complaint was slower than desirable charging. The Kona will take more than 40 minutes to go tom 10% to 80% at a DC charging station, while Hyundai's IONIQ 5 & 6 brothers will do the same in under 20 minutes, with a larger battery pack. But if you can charge at home and don't road trip far, the Kona is an excellent daily driver.
