In this video, we're discovering some of the main expressways of Algiers. By expressways, we mean wide city roads with two carriageways, similar to motorways but with less traffic. The purpose of building expressways across a city is to allow more cars to move from one main part of the city to another. Due to the huge number of cars that use Algiers's roads daily, most of these expressways are hotspots for traffic jams especially during rush hour, however, they're extremely practical to drive when traffic is totally fluid. It's usually thanks to these expressways that you can visit just any place from any place in the city of Algiers in just about 20 minutes or less! Some of these expressways are connected to the main streets of the city centers, whereas others are connected to connecting highways and motorways.
