The old garden chairs suffered sun damage on the seat back hinges. Over time the hinge joint snapped and became unusable. I woke up one morning with an idea of how to fix them. All five remaining chair hinges have now been replaced with two tie wraps and four screws. The tie wraps are 450mm x 10 mm which I bought from Screwfix for around £10. The job took about 15 minutes per chair. The most difficult part was folding the tie wrap and getting it into the hollow aluminium tube frame. I suggest using a pair of pliers to insert into each tube. Good luck if you have these types of chairs.
