Psalm 6: Have Mercy O Lord

Psalm 6 expresses a deep cry of repentance and distress, teaching that in moments of physical, emotional, and spiritual anguish, God’s mercy is the believer’s only hope. The psalmist pleads not for justice but for compassion, trusting in God’s steadfast love even while feeling near despair and death. As the prayer unfolds, sorrow turns into confidence, showing that God hears sincere repentance and lament and ultimately brings relief, restoration, and assurance to those who cry out to Him.
