CDT Thru-Hike 2023 – Part 4 | Camping in a Colorado Snowstorm

This is part four of my 2023 Continental Divide Trail thru-hike. In this episode, Pace, Wildcard, and I enter Colorado — where the CDT becomes truly challenging. Deep snow, steep icy traverses, postholing, and fast-changing weather turn this section into a real test.

We push hard to reach Pagosa Springs before running out of food, navigating snowstorms, exposed ridges, and long days in difficult conditions. Colorado on the CDT is beautiful, remote, and unforgiving — and this is just the beginning.
