One of the most remoted refuge in Europe : Cabane de la Tour Rouge

Last days of September 2023, me and Léo hiked/climbed to one of the most remoted refuge in europe, the new cabane de la tour rouge on the east face of the Grepon at 2822m.

Access informations :
From the glacier of la mer de glace the new access to the refuge de l’envers des aiguilles by the ladders is harder than the (now unequipped) 2019 one (especially the 5 meters loose ladder part) but safer in terms of rock falling risks. From the glacier of tré la porte you definitely need a jumar to climb the ropes to access the cabane de la tour rouge, a micro traction can be helpful especially on the 2 first ropes pitches who are almost straight vertical. Or you can just climb it (6b ish, but you will need some trad gear).
