This is a quick burnishing demonstration. It will show a spoon which is freshly carved and what it looks like after it has been burnished smooth. You can that that it is noticeably shinier and smoother.
Burnishing is an alternative to sandpaper that many greenwood working spoon carvers use. I love to use it as it preserves the knife marks and I believe it gives the item durability and strength that you do not get with sandpaper.
