Welcome back to Day 4 in Colorado. Continuing on from our journey through Aspen we have arrived in the Collegiate Peaks Wilderness within White River National Forest. The dense forest stretches over 167,000 acres filled with a variety of wildlife. Today we will complete a short .9 mile alpine excursion with a 200 foot elevation gain leading us to the pristine waters of Weller Lake. After taking in the views we continued our 12,095 foot ascent to Independence Pass to witness the majesty of the Continental Divide.
