Chioggia, the "Little Venice" - a pearl of the Venetian Lagoon. Family vanlife adventures in Italy

While transiting Italy from East to West we were passing through the Veneto region, a group of 118 small islands that are separated by canals and linked by over 400 bridges. We did not have time for a proper stayover in Venice itself so we decided to explore two hidden gems along the Italian coast — Chioggia and Sottomarina.

We found several places to park our camper near the historical side of Chioggia but, for an overnight stay, we decided to go to a campsite near the beach. Chioggia is connected to the beachside town of Sottomarina by this picturesque bridge so we explored the sandy shores. As the day winds down, we've been treated to a spectacular sunset over Sottomarina Beach. It was the perfect way to wrap up our coastal adventure.
