I am pleased to share the insightful speech of Hon. Dr. D. T. Mombeshora (MP), Minister of Health and Child Care of the Republic of Zimbabwe, delivered during our visit to celebrate the 7th anniversary of the Merck Foundation’s strong and impactful partnership with H.E. Amai Dr. Auxillia Mnangagwa, The First Lady of Zimbabwe and Ambassador of the “More Than a Mother” initiative.
In his inspiring address, the Honourable Minister highlighted the importance of strengthening healthcare capacity, expanding access to quality medical training, and enhancing infertility care across Zimbabwe. He also acknowledged the significant contribution of the Merck Foundation programs in transforming healthcare delivery — especially through long-term training for doctors, support for media awareness, and initiatives that uplift women and girls.
It was an honour to witness the continued dedication and collaboration between the Ministry of Health, the First Lady’s office, and the Merck Foundation in driving meaningful, sustainable impact on the ground.
