Korean side dish: Spinach side dish (banchan) recipe ⬇️
Can be used for kimbap, bibimbap, or just as a side dish
10 oz Korean Spinach (thicker leaves than ones used for salads)
1-2 Cloves of garlic, minced
1 Green onion, chopped
1-2 tsp Soy sauce
1 tsp fish sauce
A swirl of sesame oil
A sprinkle of roasted sesame seeds
1. Make the marinade and set it aside
2. In a large pot, bring water to a boil
3. Cut off the ends of Korean spinach, rinse well, and drain
4. Blanch the spinach in boiling water for 30 secs
5. Drain and rinse under cold water
6. Place the spinach on a cheese cloth and squeeze out excess water
7. Combine the spinach with the marinade
8. Taste it and adjust seasoning to personal taste
9. Store it in an air-tight container and refrigerate it
