Part of the Women Deliver Satellite Sessions , presented by the City of Vancouver. This session took place at the Vancouver Public Library's Central Branch, June 4, 2019, 5:45pm-7:45pm.
How can women support resilience in our communities in the face of climate change and disasters? Five women with lived experience share their stories and invite yours.
Moderated by Veronika Bylicki of City Hive, Chepximiya Siyam’ Chief Janice George, Vivienne Antoine, Anthonia Ogundale and Dalia Gonzalez-Harney share their perspectives on community resilience —and how women can support resilience in the face of unprecedented, rapid change to our climate and environments.
Each will share their experience of resilience in the face of climate change and disasters—from extreme heat, to floods, to wildfires. What role do women play in our communities’ ability to recover from disaster? How can intersectional feminism lead to greater resilience in Vancouver and across British Columbia?
