I Finish The Speaker Pathfinder Prototype

I think I am ready to make the speakers for real this time. The drivers used for the prototypes were from an $80 pair of bookshelf speakers. One of the pair was taken apart to make the first prototype and the other one was kept intact so we could make tests on both of them to see how the spherical enclosure improved the sound.

This time, I lay up another part to be the back of the four way speaker, mostly to prove I can make a good part with this kind of mold. The original back and the front parts were glued together to make the complete four way speaker enclosure, and I filled in the remaining gap at the edge with gelcoat before sanding that smooth.

It still needs some sort of base so the speaker stands up by itself. Amazon had some disc shaped silicone molds for baking cakes and I think one of those could be used to mold a round base for the speaker. Look for that part of the project in a future episode.
