Road to Marathon – Week 5 | The Week Henrik Nearly Broke Me

This was, without a doubt, the hardest week of training so far.
Two long runs, one brutal interval session, and a total of 150 km in the legs… and honestly, it felt like every single kilometer wanted payback.
We kick off with a 28 km long run, follow it with a surprisingly good treadmill session, and then comes the real challenge: a massive workout with Henrik Ingebrigtsen acting as pacer, coach, and part-time pain distributor.
5 km • 2×3 km • 2×2 km • 3×1 km in wind, rain, and questionable life choices.
Henrik was flying. I was hanging on for dear life.
The rest of the week? A mix of tired legs, Norwegian winter weather, cold morning sessions, and somehow still getting the work done. Even the easy days didn’t feel that easy anymore.
Sunday finishes the week with a 30 km run I was definitely not mentally prepared for, but sometimes the plan is the plan… especially when your brother writes it.
