A half hoop allows you to quilt the straight edges of a quilt without stretching them out of shape. What a brilliant idea! This particular half hoop is deeper than most and the sides are straighter which opens up the area for more quilting.
This hoop also has knobs at both bottom sides of the half hoop. Turn them to adjust the space between the inner and out loops of the hoop to allow for quilts of different thicknesses. Watch for more details...
