Mother board removal and installation: 1 to 2 hours.
A common problem for the HP DV6000 series laptop computer is for them to fail to boot or turn on. When you press the power button the computer will try to come on, the button board will light and go out in about 2 seconds and this on / off process will loop and the computer will not turn on.
The problem is that the mother board has lost some solder connection and needs to be re-soldered. I don't know of anyone that found the specific connection or joint but my cousin told me that I could fix it by melting ALL of the solder joints at once in the oven. So, bake the board for 3 minutes at 350 degrees F and it will melt all of the joints enough to fix the problem.
