Shakedown Hike - Dialing In For The WA State PCT -

My first shakedown hike with my new gear. Specifically focusing on my shoes, rain jacket, backpack and fanny pack for this go round. Things went well though the wind gave me a dead turn around time but it was an adequate taste of a day, 7 Miles with around 3,300 ft of gain. Mixed conditions to see how my gear would hold up.
Most everything felt awesome, I just had some issues with the Frogg Toggs jacket… I’ll fitting, small hood, scratchy around the face and very loose fit causing horrible flapping in the wind. I’ll take it out for a round 2 for a reassessment, but I may grab an alternative that will most def be more expensive but worth the money for the comfort and functionality.

Please remember to always be prepared before heading out into the mountains.. Proper food, water, navigation and gear are essential along with knowledge of the area.
