SO we started this project a few weeks back with the work on the dunes by bringing in 500 cubic meters of sand from Aston Bay beach with the help of the Kouga municipality.
A big expensive project agreed to after my documenting of the disaster happening at the Albatros beach after the sand bag interventions there. We think this is a better way to restore the dunes and keep our beaches going forward. Time will tell as we rehabilitate the dune vegetation with the help of the WSL One Ocean project and the Kouga Municipality. This will have to be an on going project with further replenishment down the road and hopefully this work will be extended down the point in time...
