“The idea is to absorb special values and messages by infusing them with good lyrics.” Gershon’s album Reach Out took him three years to complete. It was created in the true “album,” in the tradition of the pop classics in the 60’s and 70’s, designed as a complete journey, to be experienced to from beginning to end, like a book.
“The album treats Jewish people first and foremost as people — in terms of how we interact with each other. Reach Out is all about reaching people on a very basic level. Music has always been a universal language and so it’s the ideal medium with which to send these messages.
Songs ‘speak’ to people in many different ways. On the “Reach Out” album, stories, prayer and music “mesh” into a collection that brings emotions from happy to sad, bringing us back home as we reach the end.
Arranged in collaboration with his stage band, Takana, the music on "Reach Out" brings you textures and flavors fused from styles & inspirations sometimes worlds apart, making you want to listen again and again, giving you something new each time.
