Airbus A340-600 gusty approach into windy city - Chicago O'Hare KORD 10C - pilot's view 4K

finally, a new video for you to enjoy! ;-)
Join us on our approach and landing at Chicago O'Hare International airport in our beloved Airbus A340-600.

We were approaching from the north-east on the WYNDE 2 RNAV arrival with subsequent radar vectors, crossing Lake Michigan to reach the western shoreline a bit north of downtown Chicago.
ATC took us to the west via a northern downwind and had us intercept the ILS to runway 10C from the north.
Visibility was nice, a bit hazy here and there but winds were challenging that day.
A bit further out, the actual reports had gusts close to our crosswind limit but when coming closer, winds calmed down a bit with 25 knots in gusts at the highest.

The A340-600 is a heavy aircraft and normally quite stable but when it comes to crosswind and gusts, it can be challenging.
You might notice fluctuating speed during approach which was a result of the gusts.

I tried to transcribe all communications but in the beginning the quality was sub-optimal to say the least, so I skipped that. When you pay close attention to the PFD, you will notice what the instructions were... ;-)
