I recently had a strange issue with my Volvo Penta 2003 diesel engine where the cooling system header tank overflowed. I'll show you how I diagnosed the problem, including checking the coolant levels and replacing the heat exchanger. I also examined the thermostat bypass outlet and with the help of a small hand drill, cleared a blockage, which has resolved the issue.
