In this video, we'll show you how to make the perfect Hot Buttered Rum and why it's better than eggnog. To make the the drink in the video you will need:

3 bar spoons Smuggler's Cove Hot Buttered Rum Batter (see below)
1 1/2 oz blended aged rum (Appleton 12, El Dorado 5, Plantation 5, Real McCoy 5, Pusser's)
6 oz hot water

To make the Smuggler's Cove Hot Buttered Rum Batter:

1 tsp freshly ground cinnamon
1 tsp freshly ground nutmeg
1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
3/4 tsp ground cloves
1/2 tsp ground allspice
1/2 tsp ground anise seed
2 cups salted butter
4 cups packed golden brown sugar
2 tbsp Brer Rabbit Mild Molasses
1 tsp vanilla extract

Combine the spices in a small bowl and set aside. Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat. Add the sugar and stir. Add the molasses and vanilla extract and stir. Finally, stir in the spice mixture.
Continue to stir over low heat for 15 mins. Pour the batter into a storage container and let cool. Refrigerate once it is cool.

Add the batter and rum to a mug. Top with hot water and stir well.
Add sweet creme, grated nutmeg, and a cinnamon stick.
