Dvi Doli "Oi U Luzi Chervona Kalyna" with Ukrainian Bandura Live in London

Dvi Doli is made up of classically trained, professional musicians Julia Kogut-Kalynyuk and Kateryna Trachuk from Lviv, Ukraine. Music has always been a huge part of the duo’s life. They began playing the bandura at the ages of 5 and 9, and then obtained Master’s degrees in bandura and voice at Lviv National Music Academy, named after Mykola Lysenko, Ukraine’s leading musical conservatory. The Bandura is a stringed instrument and combines elements of the zither and the lute. It is Ukraine’s national folk instrument.

The concert ended with the anthem of the Ukrainian Sich Riflemen,
which appeared in 1914 as a result of hostilities on Mount Makivka (Western
Ukraine) between the Ukrainian Insurgent Army and the Russian military
during the First World War.
In 2022, the song gained a new wave of popularity after the performance of
Andriy Khlyvnyuk in Kyiv in the first days of the Russian invasion. Later its
cover version was performed by the cult band "Pink Floyd" called "Hey, Hey,
Rise Up!
