Hari, also known as the dragon boat races are festivals held in Okinawa, Japan to pray for a safe voyage and a good catch. The festival is also a way to thank the sea for its blessings. Hari, which have been held by fishermen in Itoman City and Naha City for hundreds of years, are traditional events celebrated by people who live with the sea.
Hari is a three day event which takes place during the golden week celebrations. Thankfully, we were able to catch a bus down to see the races on the last day
