📌 Scenario:
In this video, we’ll explore how to set up subcontracting in Odoo when managing two warehouses:
🏢 Master Warehouse – Primary location for subcontracting operations.
📦 Storage Warehouse – Backup location that supplies stock when needed.
✨ How It Works?
When subcontracting, BoM components must be sent from the Master Warehouse to the Subcontractor. If stock is unavailable, Odoo automatically triggers an internal transfer from the Storage Warehouse to fulfill the requirement.
🛠 Step-by-Step Configuration in Odoo
✔ 1. Warehouse Configuration with Resupply
🔹 Set up resupply rules between Storage → Master Warehouse.
🔹 Enable subcontracting features in Inventory Settings.
✔ 2. Product Configuration
🔹 Define raw materials & finished products.
✔ 3. Resupply Routes
✔ 4. Applying Proper Rules on Products
🔹 Assign correct routes & locations for each product.
🔹 Ensure subcontracting rules are set at the BoM level.
✔ 5. Setting Reordering Rules (Key Step!)
🔹 Define minimum stock levels for the Master Warehouse.
🔹 Automate replenishment from the Storage Warehouse when needed.
🚀 How Odoo Executes the Workflow?
🔹 Step 1: Create a Purchase Order (PO) for subcontracting.
🔹 Step 2: Odoo triggers a resupply request from the Master Warehouse.
🔹 Step 3: Stock availability check:
✅ If available → Direct resupply to the Subcontractor.
❌ If not available → Odoo creates an Internal Transfer from Storage to Master Warehouse.
🔹 Step 4: Transfer stock and ship raw materials to the Subcontractor.
🔹 Step 5: Receive the Finished Product back into the Master Warehouse.
