The Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose Indian Botanic Garden is situated in Shibpur, Howrah near Kolkata.
This garden is previously known as Indian Botanic Garden but commonly known as the Calcutta Botanical Garden or B. Garden. This garden also previously known as the Royal Botanic Garden, Calcutta.
The main attraction of this garden is 250 year's old The Great Banyan Tree. Total area of this garden is 273 acer.
There are 17000 trees of different kind of 1400 species.
The Gaint Water Lili of Amazon is another attraction of this garden..
The gardens are also famous for their enormous collections of Orchids, Bamboos, Palms, and Pine. This gardens were founded in 1786 by Colonel Robert Kyd, an army officer of the British East India Company.
