Early June in the garden, and as always there is plenty to keep me busy, so join me as I show you what I have been up to in the garden.
Despite the fact the flower season, has not yet hit its full stride, I am already, writing notes, and jotting down ideas for next season.
Some of you may still be at the contemplating stage and perhaps have not made a leap to starting a garden, and if this is you, its not too late, there are still things you can sow now, that will flower this season, I have just sewn another succession of Zinnias, Sunflowers, and ammobium atalam, the winged everlasting flower. I have also direct sewn some more Persian cress, and gold of pleasure, and I am going to give some chickpeas ago as well.
Now is also the time to sew biennials, and some of you may be thinking you can not be bothered to sew something that takes a full year to flower, and that was definitely how I had felt about biennials in the past, thankfully, I saw the errors of my way, and have been sewing them every summer since.
My favourite biennial has to be Dianthus Barbatus, or Sweet William, it has the most beautiful fragrance and such an incredible vase life its is a must for spring bouquets.
