Interesting story:
On the MPS album "Another Day", recorded in November 1970 in Villingen,
the trio includes the not-so-known drummer Ray Price and another - at that
time still internationally - unknown Czech bass player, a certain Jiri (George)
Mraz (spelled that way), and a few weeks later in Budapest already the
Danish youth (then only 24 years old) Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen.
The reason was very simple, as Mraz emigrated/stepped down
after the Soviet invasion of Prague in 1968, and Hungary would have extradited
him to "friendly" Czechoslovakia. Well, since that's what he wanted the least,
he told the "Maestro", who urgently ordered the young Viking to
himself, who then stayed with him for a few decades...
Oscar Peterson, piano
Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen, bass
Ray Price, drums
